Welcome aboard, volunteers! Thank you for joining us in making Tall Ships® Erie 2025 a spectacular event for our community and visitors from around the world. Your dedication and energy bring this festival to life, and we're thrilled to have you as part of the crew.

To get started, you MUST complete the Mandatory Security & Emergency Training, which will be available online starting August 12th.

Below you'll find everything you need to prepare for your shift, including required training videos, reference guides, and important contacts. Please complete all steps before your assigned volunteer date. Shift assignments will be emailed to you as they are finalized.

Learn to use all the related tools, walk into a job and be a rockstar from day one
We’re still looking for help in the following key areas:
  • Hydration Station (RAMP certified preferred)
  • Ticket Sales & Gate Entry Assistants
  • Kids Zone Attendants
  • Logistics Runners (setup/breakdown support)
  • Traffic Control (especially Friday morning and Sunday afternoon)

General Volunteer Orientation Sessions

We’re hosting optional orientation sessions for all volunteers at Volunteer HQ – Bayfront Maritime Center, 40 Holland Street, Erie, PA 16507:
Saturday, August 17 @ 3:00PM | Sunday, August 18 @3:00 PM | Tuesday, August 20 6:00PM

These sessions are designed to help introduce you to the festival! You’ll meet the staff, discuss your role and schedule, and hear important updates.
Sessions will be broadcast via Zoom and a recording will be posted here on the portal for those unable to attend live.

Tall Ships Erie Starts

Mandatory Training

Security & Emergency Procedures Training

As a designated Maritime Event of National Significance by the United States Coast Guard, Tall Ships® Erie requires all volunteers to complete this security training to help ensure the safety of guests, vessels, and personnel.

This online video training covers:
  • Emergency radio communication and response protocols
  • Evacuation routes and medical tent locations
  • Suspicious behavior reporting
  • Screening procedures and prohibited items


All volunteers must complete this training before they can be scheduled for a shift. If you encounter technical issues, please contact volunteer@tallshipserie.org.
